Amazon and Google have jointly introduced a new multicloud networking service designed to offer faster and more reliable connectivity between their cloud platforms. This service allows customers to create private, high-speed links between Amazon Web Services (AWS) and Google Cloud within minutes.
The launch comes shortly after a major AWS outage in October that disrupted thousands of websites and caused significant financial losses for businesses.
The new solution combines AWS Interconnect–Multicloud with Google Cloud’s Cross-Cloud Interconnect to improve communication and data transfer between the two platforms. Early users of this approach include large enterprise customers.
AWS remains the world’s largest cloud provider, followed by Microsoft Azure and Google Cloud. As demand for artificial intelligence and high-capacity computing grows, major tech companies continue investing heavily in infrastructure to support increasing internet traffic.
Amazon’s cloud division reported $33 billion in revenue in the third quarter, compared with Google Cloud’s $15.16 billion.
