People in Madison celebrate a day that is dedicated to music.

Music is “performed by anyone, enjoyed by everyone.” It is a day of music all over the city to mark the summer solstice and the longest day of the year.

Make Music Madison is open to musicians of all ages, musical backgrounds, and skill levels.

This year, there are performances at over 100 Madison locations. One of them is located at 217 Division Street, where a concert that runs all night Wednesday through Thursday begins at midnight.

Jane Schroeder, who owns 217 Division Street, stated, “I love the idea of taking music and light in the darker spaces of our lives, like the one we’re trying to get out of right now.”

Make Music Madison began back in 2013 and is essential for the bigger Make Music Day, a global music day celebrated in excess of 1,000 urban areas all over the planet.
