Startups Can Use the Nvidia GPU Server for Free with AI Accelerator

The first AI Accelerator program has been launched by Northern Data, one of Nvidia’s biggest partners.

Through the free use of cutting-edge NVIDIA HGX H100 GPU servers, this program seeks to accelerate AI research for a chosen group of startups.

The initiative will be powered by 100% carbon-free energy by Northern Data Group, a provider of High-Performance Computing (HPC) solutions, with assistance from knowledgeable engineers in its ranks.

NVIDIA, Hewlett Packard Enterprise, and Supermicro are among the industry heavyweights who will mentor and conduct workshops with chosen businesses.

By utilizing state-of-the-art methods such as retrieval-augmented generation, quantization, and fine-tuning, the AI Accelerator program aims to enable startups to quickly develop or grow a proof of concept for their AI innovations.

In addition to giving them free access to NVIDIA’s HGX H100 GPU servers, which can work up to 9 times faster and have 30 times faster inference, the mentoring can offer insightful advice on what to do next, which is something that many startups long for.

Developing an ecosystem

According to Northern Data, if AI is primarily in the hands of large tech corporations, it will impede global advancements in AI. For this reason, the company aims to provide startups with access to cutting-edge hardware.

Despite being a disruptive technology that has everyone from Google to Microsoft embracing its implementation, entrepreneurs have played a major role in driving the current AI boom. Prior to receiving attention from the major tech giants for their AI development, OpenAI, Anthropic, and Synthesia all cleared the path.

In fact, Northern Data’s release coincides with a spike in AI activity in the European IT sector.

Investment in AI

The resiliency and growing potential of Europe’s IT sector, propelled by the quick development of AI technologies, are highlighted in a recent research by tech consulting and investment firm GP Bullhound.

The analysis highlights how prepared the continent is for unheard-of development, laying the groundwork for a time when AI-powered solutions transform industries and position Europe at the vanguard of global innovation.

Last year alone, more than €11 billion was invested in European AI businesses. Surprisingly, the AI/ML industry produced 36% of the new unicorns.

With a UK startup obtaining Europe’s largest-ever AI investment of US$1.05 billion in funding to create autonomous automobile solutions, the UK has emerged as the third-largest AI market globally.

With three unicorns each, the UK and France are leading the startup scene. The UK’s unicorns are valued at US$3.4 billion, including contributions from AI leaders like Synthesia and Builder.ai, while the French trio, led by innovators like Mistral AI, reached a collective valuation of US$7 billion.

AI Acceleration

In light of the AI boom, Northern Data’s AI Accelerator program serves as a catalyst for additional expansion.

The program seeks to fully realize the promise of new concepts in the field of artificial intelligence by democratizing access to AI-capable HPC systems and industry mentorship. This will increase the range of possible products available in the AI market.
