Polish officials stated on Wednesday that Wagner Group mercenaries will relocate to the Moscow-allied nation following their failed mutiny against Russia’s military leadership, which will strengthen Poland’s eastern border with Belarus.
According to broadcaster TVN24, Poland’s Deputy Prime Minister Jaroslaw Kaczynski stated that Wagner’s anticipated move to Belarus was “a new and much more difficult stage of [Russia’s] hybrid war.”
Alexander Lukashenko, the president of Belarus, said this week that Wagner leader Yevgeny Prigozhin had come to Minsk as part of a deal to stop the private military group’s march on Moscow.
