Verizon Reveals Details of the October 2025 Pixel Update Ahead of Google’s Official Release

Google is yet to release the October 2025 update for Pixel smartphones, but US carrier Verizon has already published details about the upcoming over-the-air (OTA) rollout. The carrier’s release notes went live earlier today, giving users a first look at what the next monthly patch will bring.

Interestingly, despite being labeled as the October 2025 update, Verizon notes that the Android security patch level remains September 2025, suggesting there are no new security fixes this month. According to Google’s official security bulletin, no vulnerabilities were listed for October either.

Build Numbers

Verizon has revealed the following build numbers for the October 2025 Pixel update:

  • Pixel 10: BD3A.251005.003.W3

  • Pixel 9 – Pixel 7: BP3A.251005.004.B1

User Interface Fixes

All supported devices (Pixel 7 through Pixel 10) are set to receive two key UI-related fixes:

  1. Fixed an issue that caused a semi-transparent background to appear after launching the camera.

  2. Fixed a bug that caused the system to crash when starting or stopping casting via the Media Output Switcher.

Device-Specific Improvements

  • Pixel 10 & Pixel 9 Series: Google has fixed a problem where the flashlight status was not correctly appearing in the At a Glance widget.

  • Pixel 7: The update addresses a Display & Graphics issue that could cause the screen to flicker and shut down under specific conditions.

Update Context

For most Pixel phones, this marks the first software update since the Android 16 QPR1 (Quarterly Platform Release 1) rollout last month. However, the Pixel 10 series had already received two updates in September to resolve a persistent “fuzzy display” issue.

As of now, the October 2025 OTA has not yet gone live from Google’s servers, but Verizon’s early release notes indicate that the rollout should begin soon. Pixel users can expect the update to arrive in the coming days, continuing Google’s trend of incremental improvements and performance optimizations across its smartphone lineup.
