WhatsApp Introduces New CarPlay Features for All Users
Apple CarPlay users have enjoyed a favorable couple of weeks. Initially, support for ChatGPT and Google Meet was introduced, and now an enhanced WhatsApp experience arrives with additional features and greater controls.
On the App Store page, Meta refers to these modifications as a “Major Update.” In the past, the WhatsApp functionality on the infotainment system was restricted to a handful of Siri-enabled features, but now users can access more controls, including dedicated tabs for recent calls, favorites, and chat history.
You still cannot type messages on the screen, which is understandable. To send a message, tap on New Message on the homepage, mention the contact you wish to reach, and dictate your message. Siri will read the message aloud to you before you send it.
If you need to make any edits, tap the Change button (pencil icon). If you are satisfied with the message, no further action is required. Siri will automatically send the message.
Calls, however, are quite simple. You can simply tap the contact in the Calls or Favorites tab. If it’s someone you don’t call often, you can tap the “Ask Siri to Make a Call” button and state the name.
