AWS Is Accepting Submissions For Its 2025 Startup Accelerator For Generative AI
Applications for the third cohort of the AWS Generative AI Accelerator (GAIA), an eight-week global program created to expand early-stage firms developing core generative AI technologies, are now being accepted by Amazon Web Services, Inc. (AWS), a division of Amazon.com, Inc.
Starting on October 13, 2025, at Amazon HQ1 in Seattle, the program will choose 40 promising startups from throughout the world. The chosen cohort will be revealed on September 24, 2025, and applications are accepted from June 10 to July 10.
AWS is concentrating its efforts in 2025 to assist companies creating generative AI technologies, including creating models, infrastructure, fine-tuning tools, and agentic workflows that will propel the next wave of innovation, now that generative AI tools are broadly accessible. Through access to AWS’ generative AI tech stack, technical mentoring and advice, go-to-market support, and up to $1 million in AWS credits, the program seeks to speed these teams.
At this point, almost every startup will be utilizing generative AI in some capacity for their operations. The VP and global head of startups at AWS, Jon Jones, stated, “For this year’s accelerator, we are sharpening our focus to support those startups developing the foundational technologies that will define what’s possible with AI.”
“This year’s program demonstrates our ongoing dedication to accelerating global generative AI innovation by giving innovative startups the visibility, mentorship, and credits they require to grow with assurance.”
Between its in-person launch at Amazon’s headquarters in Seattle and its conclusion at AWS re:Invent 2025, the eight-week hybrid program known as the AWS Generative AI Accelerator offers virtual sessions. Applications are especially requested from startups developing core agents, infrastructure technologies, fine-tuning platforms, or huge language models.
Companies that are interested should have a competent technical team, a working Minimum Viable Product (MVP), and substantial client traction. Those who are already building on AWS will get the most from practical architecture direction and marketplace enablement, although prior AWS expertise is not necessary.
With organizations chosen from North America, Asia-Pacific and Japan, Europe, the Middle East and Africa, and Latin America, the 2025 cohort will demonstrate AWS’ dedication to global inclusiveness. Infrastructure providers, application-layer innovators, and foundational model companies will all receive industry-specific mentoring and support as part of the initiative.
