BMW M2 CS Revealed: Engine and Specifications
BMW has unveiled the M2 CS, a high-performance variant of their little M series. This latest version is intriguing because it has a lighter design, more power, and better performance capabilities in addition to obvious aesthetic enhancements.
Improved efficiency
The 3.0-liter straight-six twin-turbo engine that powers the new M2 CS is tuned to produce an amazing 523 horsepower and 649 Nm of torque. The vehicle is exclusively rear-wheel drive, in contrast to its predecessors, the M3, M4, and M5 CS versions, however it does come with BMW’s eight-speed automatic transmission as standard.
Lighter, Faster, and Track-Ready
This 2026 M2 CS’s carbon-fiber body panels, forged wheels, and carbon-back bucket seats make it 44 kg lighter than the standard automatic model. Even lighter than the manual version of the normal M2, its curb weight is 1,710 kg. In order to further reduce its weight, BMW also provides carbon-ceramic brakes as an available option for an extra $8,500 (about ₹7.3 lakh).
Power and Speed
BMW M has improved the spring stiffness and adjusted the traction/stability control, adaptive dampers, electric locking differential, and ABS to match the increased power and decreased weight. The M2 CS is one of the fastest two-door BMWs available today, reaching a top speed of 302 km/h and going from 0 to 100 km/h in under 3.7 seconds.
Pricing and availability
In August, BMW will begin producing the 2026 M2 CS at its facility in San Luis Potosi, Mexico. There will likely be deliveries shortly after. The car costs $99,775 (about ₹86 lakh), which is roughly $30,000 (about ₹26 lakh) more than the 2025 M2 base model but less than the 2025 M4 CS, which costs $124,675 (about ₹1.06 crore).
