Google has increased the usage limits for Antigravity’s Gemini threefold, on two occasions
New usage limits have been implemented for Google’s Gemini AI models, and in response to user feedback, Google has specifically increased those limits for Antigravity – twice.
In addition to numerous announcements related to Gemini at Google I/O this week, it was disclosed that Gemini would be subject to compute-based usage limits for its various tools and functionalities. Users have expressed some frustration regarding this, but Google is attentive to the feedback in one particular area.
The new usage limits for Gemini are now active, and users appear to be quite frustrated about it. Within Antigravity – Google’s AI-driven coding tool – the usage limits for Gemini have been raised twice since they were implemented earlier this week.
On Wednesday, Google increased the rate limits for the Gemini model in Antigravity by three times, while also resetting the weekly quotas for all users. This adjustment occurred swiftly after the new limits were established, primarily because users were reaching their limits shortly after they were enforced. Some users reported hitting the limits within just an hour of using Antigravity, marking a significant shift from previous availability.
Tonight, Google has once again tripled the usage limits for Gemini models in Antigravity, this time concerning the weekly quota. Varun Mohan, a Director at DeepMind working on Antigravity, acknowledged that users could reach their weekly limits “after a couple of work sessions,” and also confirmed that Google has reset quotas for all paid plans for the second time this week.
The increased quotas for Antigravity are likely to assist many users in maximizing the benefits of these tools, but limits will still have an effect, especially since they remain lower than they were previously, as users have quickly noted. This situation will apply to the entire suite of Gemini tools, as usage limits have not been modified anywhere outside of Antigravity at this moment.
