Google Wallet Updates The List Of “Payment Methods” For Android Users

A simple summary of all your saved “Payment methods” is now available in Google Wallet for Android thanks to a minor update.

First, there has been a change to the account menu. “Pay contactless setup” is now called “Payment setup.”

In the meantime, “Payment methods” have taken the position of the Google Wallet/Pay “Participating banks” list in the significant update. This displays a list of saved cards with the last four numbers, network name, preview photos, and a notice from Google Wallet indicating that the card is “Encrypted on this device.”

The card marked as the “Default for tap to pay” is highlighted, and selecting “Add a payment card” leads to the same screen as the Add to Wallet FAB.

If you have numerous stored payment methods, there is a shortcut at the bottom to the current “Edit card order” page, which has a UI akin to Payment methods.

You land on the same page when you tap any of the cards as when you click from the homepage. For those who find the carousel inadequate and have a large number of saved cards, this user interface (UI) may be Google Wallet’s answer.

This is being rolled out as a server-side upgrade for the Play services (24.15.18) and Google Wallet (version 24.14.x).
