Helping Hand for Relief and Development (HHRD) Empowers the Young Generation

Helping Hand for Relief and Development (HHRD), a global humanitarian organization, believes that the future of the mother Earth lies in the younger generation’s hands. Therefore, to make sure that young people’s future is bright, they have made consistent efforts to promote their transition. “Youth Empowerment” program of HHRD brings together talented young people worldwide. It encourages them to engage in numerous humanitarian relief projects. Their youth empowerment programs aid in building permanent positive character traits in the innocent minds of the young people.

Up till now, they have launched various youth-centric programs globally to empower the younger generation. This article highlights HHRD’s multiple contributions to shaping tomorrow’s leaders for the world coming ahead.

Youth for Haiti Program (YFH)

The Haitian community is composed of people from different ethnic and national backgrounds, and most of them have settled in various countries for better opportunities. HHRD recognizes this community and has been providing a helping hand to Haitian immigrants wherever possible. HHRD’s YFH program encourages youth from all over the world to collaborate to work for the betterment of the Haitian community.

Through the YFH program’s consistent efforts, youth volunteers successfullyassisted in a project for the Masjid Community Center. They also interacted with Haitian students and held an educational lesson. They even participated in building medical clinics and spent a day with the supported Orphans of HHRD. Some notable contributions of the YFH program were, distribution of 450 fully equipped school bags, adoption of a Muslim orphanage for housing 50 Haiti children, and provision of food and financial assistance to over 700 people.

Youth for Jordan Program (YFJ)

This interesting initiative gives college students from around the USA an opportunity to spend part of their summer supporting those in need alongside qualified professionals. These young people get a chance to spend a full week working in HHRD’s office in Jordan to get an eyewitness account of some of the difficult conditions people live in. Thus, this is once a lifetime opportunity for young people to gain hands-on experience serving the people on the ground. In the previous program, the young volunteers got a chance to spend some quality time with orphaned Syrian refugees by going to the nearby shopping center, driving together, and sharing a meal with them. As a result, it enabled the young volunteers to bondwith these wonderful kids and bring joy to their day.

Summer Internship Program (SIP)

This initiative offers students a chance to spend the summer working with some of the most committed relief workers. SIP also provides a rare opportunity to develop leadership skills and gain significant professional experience. This hands-on initiative is intended to mentor and nurture today’s future leaders in an atmosphere dedicated exclusively to the social services sector. Nearly 200 students apply to spend two months in the human resources sector under their employees’ tutelage each year. To be eligible for the program, you must be a legal US citizen or a permanent resident in the country. You can check the other requirements on their website.
