Hyundai Launches Four Internal Startup
- Business
- March 4, 2025
Four in-house firms with promising technologies and prospects, such solar panels, have been spun off by Hyundai Motor.
They were also a part of Hyundai’s ZERO1NE Company Builder program, which has been in place since 2000 and helps its employees launch businesses outside of the automotive industry.
The four startups are Flexon, which produces environmentally friendly materials for auto parts; HVS, which develops materials that prevent corrosion and humidity; ROAI, which specializes in manufacturing; and Solarstic, which manufactures light solar modules.
Hyundai Motor will provide 300 million won ($205,000) in aid to each of the chosen startups. The automaker will give the startups a year to establish their businesses before deciding whether to keep them as spinoffs or integrate them into one of its departments.
Hyundai Motor contributes at least 100 million won to the business in the event of a true spinoff.
Hyundai will allow employees to be rehired for a period of three years.
