New open-source Model To Be Released By Chinese AI Startup Zhipu
As early as July 28, Chinese AI startup Zhipu intends to make its most recent open-source model, GLM-4.5, available, according to a person with knowledge of the matter.
Zhipu wants to improve its competitiveness in the global AI market by updating its flagship model.
The business, which is now referred to in English as Z.ai, has not made any public statements regarding this move.
Zhipu is one of several Chinese AI companies that have recently released open-source AI models, along with Moonshot and StepFun.
StepFun offered a non-proprietary version of its most recent reasoning model, whereas Moonshot introduced their Kimi K2 model.
Furthermore, Zhipu is allegedly thinking of relocating its intended IPO from mainland China to Hong Kong.
It is reportedly collaborating with financial advisors on a possible public offering that may raise about US$300 million, with support from Alibaba Group and Tencent Holdings.
