TCS and AWS will introduce a Gen AI practice

In an effort to assist clients in realizing the potential of generative AI services, Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) and AWS have teamed up to establish a generative AI (artificial intelligence) practice.

TCS has committed to providing over 100,000 workers with foundational training in generative AI. With the launch of this new procedure and the certification of over 25,000 staff members in AWS generative AI services, the software company is currently concentrated on expanding its area of expertise.

“TCS’ AWS generative AI practice will help enterprises choose and quickly scale the right solutions for their unique business needs and transform their organizations, using AWS’ services such as Amazon Bedrock. TCS’ consultants will help clients explore the most impactful use-cases in their business context, experiment collaboratively and co-innovate generative AI-powered solutions,” India’s largest software services firm says.

The company’s innovation and research hubs in major cities like Pittsburgh, New York, Toronto, Amsterdam, and Tokyo will host this co-innovation. The teams can also benefit from the work being done at these locations by university researchers and startup partners from TCS’s innovation ecosystem.

“To make generative AI deployment effective and trustworthy, we must approach the technology holistically across multiple dimensions including creativity, productivity, and business value. Drawing from all the investments we have made in building deep capabilities in generative AI, our strong partnership with AWS, and contextual knowledge of our customers’ businesses, we help them take a comprehensive approach to realize the true potential of generative AI to drive their growth and transformation,” says Krishna Mohan, deputy head, TCS AI.Cloud unit.

According to the company, TCS will assist its clients in implementing Amazon CodeWhisperer to give developers direct access to generative AI-powered code recommendations, which will increase code quality and save time.

“Generative AI is one of the most transformational technologies of our generation, allowing organizations to reimagine their customers’ experience, increase employees’ productivity, and enhance overall business operations. AWS has been focused on making AI accessible to companies of all sizes and across industries, and by deepening the AWS and TCS relationship through the TCS generative AI practice, more customers can easily and quickly leverage and benefit from generative AI,” says Vasi Philomin, Vice President of Generative AI, AWS.

This occurs at a time when businesses around the world are becoming interested in generative AI due to its potential to drastically alter various industries. Businesses that adopt a wait-and-see strategy when it comes to AI run the risk of falling behind, claims Bain & Company. According to the report, businesses could expedite worker tasks by 20% without sacrificing quality thanks to the current generation of AI tools and models.

N Chandrasekaran, the chairman of Tata Sons, stated earlier this year that AI will enable workers with little to no experience to do higher-level tasks. Other leading IT firms in India, including Infosys and Wipro, have declared plans to invest in generative AI.

According to Chandrasekaran, TCS is investing a lot of money in developing AI capabilities, including platforms and products that use AI. “In the past decade, there has been a rapid evolution of digital technologies, bringing about a transformation across every industry. Now, the advancements in AI have made AI transition a central focus. The impact of AI and Machine learning is going to be profound,”
