The Largest Hospital in Israel Introduces a Medtech Startup Accelerator

The largest hospital in Israel has announced the opening of its own accelerator program, which is housed at the Sheba Medical Center’s Ramat Gan, near Tel Aviv, campus.

The ARC Accelerator seeks to assist early-stage medtech firms by offering guidance, capital, and a network of support. Leading medical diagnostics business Ilex, which is contributing $10 million to the project, has collaborated with it.

The accelerator will accept proposals from Israeli and international entrepreneurs and is focused on three areas: women’s health, mental health, and elder health. Every program will consist of both in-person and virtual sessions, last 10–14 weeks, and involve 8–10 companies.

Prof. Eyal Zimlichman, CEO of ARC Innovation and Chief Innovation and Chief Transformation Officer of Sheba Medical Center, stated, “The new accelerator will be a central part of implementing ARC’s vision of leading transformation processes in healthcare systems worldwide.”

“We aim to support the leading entrepreneurs in Israel and believe in our ability to guide entrepreneurs at various stages to realizing their potential. We believe this can significantly influence economic growth in Israel and within the global healthcare market.”

According to Newsweek, Sheba is one of the top 10 hospitals in the world and the largest hospital in the Middle East.
