The reaction of artists living in Iran to Mehsa’s death;  Arman Afifeh: I will stop all my cooperation with the Ministry of Guidance

The artists living in Iran have reacted to the death of Mehsa (Gina) Amini on different levels and from different aspects.  The reaction of some of these artists to the death of Mrs. Amini, which happened after she was arrested by the Tehran police, has been more active.

Arman Afifeh, a singer and composer and manager of Avaye Armani Music Company, wrote on his Instagram page on Wednesday, September 21, publishing pictures of police officers attacking women: “Until today and in all these years, I have spoken everywhere from Khuzestan to Kurdistan and  The place of this homeland is because of the love of the people and that’s it.  These are the same people who are being brutally and innocently beaten today.  I, Mohsen Chavoshi, announce in my sanity and health that from today I will stop all my cooperation with the Ministry of Guidance, etc.  Silence is no longer allowed

Actress Katayoun Riahi posted a photo without a hijab on her Instagram with the text “Mourning the women of Iran’s land”.  This move of Mrs. Riahi faced many reactions.

In response to the death of Mrs. Amini and the comments of the President of Iran, Ebrahim Raisi, who said that Iranian women observe hijab as a matter of their own accord, movie and theater actress Shiva Ebrahimi published a photo without hijab on her Instagram page and wrote:  “I am an Iranian woman who has been wearing a headscarf for years out of fear and compulsion, but it was never by my will and never will be.  This is in response to someone who falsely said that Iranian women observe hijab as a matter of their own accord and no one has forced them to do so.”

Maryam Bobani, a film, television and theater actress, published a photo without a hijab on her Instagram page and wrote: “Forty years of suffering did not color my hair, but I am freeing this whiteness from being forced to wear a headscarf out of respect and to be with all the women and girls of  my country
