Updated app Google Pay (Tez) icon is evidently a wallet

The Google Pay app for the Indian region was recently reconstructed from the beginning with Flutter. The updated application was released in September this year, and it highlighted some minor design changes. Presently, Google is revealing a new icon for the application with its most recent beta update.

The new Google Pay icon was first spotted by Twitter client @isumantada, who likewise shared a screenshot of the application’s updated splash screen. As should be obvious in the joined screenshots, the new icon seems as though a 3D version of the Squarespace icon made using the four Google colors. While the icon follows Google’s moderate icon aesthetic, it’s a long way from the current Google Pay icon, and that may create superfluous confusion among clients.

In spite of the fact that Google is yet to uncover the motivation behind the new icon design, the name of the icon file separated from the most recent APK gives us some genuinely necessary understanding. The file is classified “logo_billfold,” which recommends that Google was attempting to reproduce an insignificant wallet (billfold=wallet). Nonetheless, the final product looks not at all like a wallet or even folded bills for that matter.

It’s important that Google recently released new icons for a few of its applications and services, including Gmail, Google Calendar, Drive, Docs, and Meet. And keeping in mind that numerous clients communicated their displeasure with these icons too, at least they look fairly like the active icons. The new Google Pay icon, then again, simply doesn’t make sense.
