HowCanIHelp aims to connect volunteers with local and national charities that need help amid the COVID-19 crisis

Are you looking to help people in your community during these uncertain times? Perhaps you’re looking for a place to ask for help. That’s where HowCanIHelp comes in.

The USA-based online platform pairs verified charitable organizations with those who can help them. A team of designers and software engineers came together to build a directory of over 200 local and national charities that need help during the COVID-19 crisis. The goal of this platform is to connect potential donors with verified charitable organizations that are accepting donations in order to help populations that are the most vulnerable during this crisis.

When you decide to support a cause you care about, you want your donation to count. Doing some research and planning your giving can help ensure your donations get where they will do good. The dramatic spread of COVID-19 has disrupted lives, livelihoods, communities and businesses worldwide. Organizations around the world, including the digital health community, are coming together and finding innovative ways to minimize the impact on public health and to limit disruptions to economies and supply chains.

With the new launch of the free-to-use platform for nonprofits of all sizes, HowCanIHelp will allow worthy community organizations to get help and donations from volunteers seeking to show love and make a positive impact in their communities. “With the pandemic going on and lots of organizations winding down a bit and everything has been put on pause, we went back to our roots and built a tool that will allow people to take action on things they care about” said one of the members of the team.

Whether you’re looking for help as a charity or you’re looking to help a charity, it’s all in the platform. Charities are expected to fill out this form to add their organization to the list.
