“Ellen Alexander releases a book in honor of her grandfather Nikolai Bugaev “The Radioman of Cosmos Era”

In May, a book about Nikolai Ivanovich Bugaev, a person who worked in the same team as Sergei Korolev, the founder of practical cosmonautics, an outstanding designer and organizer of rocket and space technology in the USSR, designers Georgy Babakin, Mikhail Ryazansky, Alexey Bogomolov, will be released on the markets.

Nikolai Ivanovich Bugaev also organized and provided telephone and television communication with all cosmonauts starting from the first human-crewed flight of Yu.A. Gagarin and right up to the entry into space and the first manual landing of the Soviet manned spaceship Voskhod-2. He organized and conducted communications with the first deep space objects, “Moon”, “Venus”, and “Mars”.

In the middle of the last century, talk about an artificial satellite of the Earth, a man in space, the program to explore the Moon, Venus, Mars seemed to most people taken out of the context of a science fiction novel. But there were particular people behind their implementation.

In those years, not only the name of Chief Designer Sergei Korolev was strictly classified. People rarely talked on television about those who participated in space exploration with him. Colonel Nikolai Ivanovich Bugaev is among them.

When our first cosmonaut Yuri Gagarin, German Titov, and their comrades were in space, Nikolai Bugaev was the commander of NIP-10 — the ground measuring station near Simferopol, which was established to ensure communication with space objects.

Exactly from there, on October 4, 1957, a connection was made on the reception of signals with the first artificial satellite, and exactly there were carried out tests of the first Soviet moon rover. On a specially created lunodrom, space geologists and designers created and built a moon section, similar to the real one, with craters, stones, and “moon dust” from the Evpatoria shell rock. That’s where the crews were trained to operate the moon rover.

And on October 7, 1959, the Soviet interplanetary space station “Luna-3” photographed the moon’s back side for the first time in human history, and the image was spread worldwide. “Kolya, you and I will fly to Mars and Venus soon!” – said then Korolev to Nikolai Bugaev.

NIP-10 provided radio and TV communication between Earth and space, enabling cosmonauts in orbit to communicate by telephone with the Mission Control Center. Nikolai Ivanovich Bugaev is one of the two people who spoke to Gagarin during his legendary flight into space: the first was Sergei Korolev.

Later, Gagarin and Nikolai Bugaev repeatedly met, both for work and leisure.

That famous session, as well as all the following ones — during Titov’s flight and when Leonov went into open space for the first time and Belyaev for the first time performed manual control of the spacecraft landing — were successfully conducted by NIP-10.

Thanks to the flawless work of NIP under the leadership of Bugaev, many other world-shaking breakthroughs in space exploration were made. Aircraft were controlled from there, and scientific and service information was received and transcribed there. It is no coincidence that Bugaev’s home archive keeps photographs with dedicatory inscriptions of people, in whose honor stations, streets, cities, and planets are named today.

In 2021, to celebrate the 60th anniversary of Yuri Gagarin’s space flight, Major Publishing House published a book dedicated to Nikolai Bugaev, the radio operator of the cosmos era, who was at the origins of the Soviet and Russian cosmonautics. And he sincerely believed that in the near future, the words spoken to him by Sergei Korolev about flights to Mars and Venus would come true.

Ellen Alexander was born in Moscow, in a family of physicists that pioneered space exploration

Ellen graduated from the Moscow School of Physics and Mathematics, but she realized that her passion lies in another field, she was always attracted to creativity, especially music. From early childhood, she attended various classes and courses, she was very talented at singing and choreography, which she continues to do to this day. Her discipline, always helps her to be in good physical shape and keep her posture.

During classes, five-year-old Ellen was noticed by the commercial director of one of the state TV channels and invited to a photo session. So she made her debut in a commercial, where she received her first salary, which she was very proud of.

Ellen Alexander’s parents wanted her to follow her family’s path, so, she entered to study at the Russian Economic University named after G.V. Plekhanov at the Faculty of International Economic Relations. While studying at the university, she continued to earn money as a model.

The first famous magazine in Ellen’s career, for which she appeared on the cover, was ELLE. At that time she worked for modeling agencies in Moscow and studied acting courses at the Moscow Art Theater.

After graduating from university, she left for London to pursue her education at the Royal Academy of Arts, as well as an acting career. Then she moved to New York, where she took acting and filmmaking courses at the New York Film Academy, and then to Los Angeles, where she studied at The University of California.

In addition to creative activity and modeling, Ellen Alexander is engaged in the study of aging, anti-age, fertility, and the ability to have children at any age.

In 2019, she co-founded the biotech startup Create U Future: in partnership with a bioengineering student from Harvard University, she worked on a project aimed at researching the problems of aging, infertility, and prolongation of reproductive age in women. As part of the work on this project, she met with scientists, lawyers, and other specialists, was engaging in the development of the website, and the preparation of various documentation. According to her, work in this direction has already begun to bear fruit, since there are already clients on the waiting list.

As a model, she appeared on covers of the most popular glossy magazines such as Harper’s Bazaar, Esquire, Cosmopolitan, Glamor, Shape, L’Officielle, Elle, Grazia, Marie Claire, and Vogue.

During self-isolation in 2020, she starred in the video for the song Good Girl Go and Shadows, which, according to Ellen Alexander, was her first work of this high level. Initially, the song was created for her friend, who found himself in a difficult life situation. The idea of the video is that we leave the dark fog and go to the light, says the performer. With this song, she wanted to support her friend, showing him how to resolve the situation, and emphasize that she is always there for him, and he can rely on her.

Currently, Ellen Alexander travels a lot around the world, which is associated with her professional activities in the modeling business, and her life passes between two cities – Los Angeles and Moscow, where her parents live.

Style tips from Ellen Alexander

Looking younger is nowadays a goal for all women who are done with puberty. It’s like we’re going straight from teenagers to looking for anti-aging treatments. Or maybe it just feels like this because the 20s have a way of just vanishing in like seconds and it’s “hello 30s” all of a sudden.

Sometimes looking younger is a matter of attitude; other times is just picking the right outfit. But one thing is true for sure – if we want to look younger, we must dress according to our body type. Emphasize the physical strengths and mask imperfections. Also, it’s important not to wear clothes that are too short, too tight, or too transparent. Sexy clothes are great, but they also must be elegant and classy.
Are you ready to dive right into tips and tricks that you could really use to choose clothes to look years younger?

Shapewear for women

If you had one or multiple pregnancies, the chances are you’re not ecstatic with how your body looks now. And the same is valid if you lost some weight recently or if you’re carrying a bit more weight than you’d like. In short, for all the bulges that make you uncomfortable, there is one solution, and it’s called shapewear. With the right size of shapewear, you can do things you never thought are possible such as wearing a bodycon dress. Your waist gets an amazing definition, there is no cellulite in sight, and the thighs look slimmer and hotter.

It’s all in the color

If your goal is to look younger, the color of the clothes is crucial. Clothes that are very dark (black, brown, grey, kaki) can make you look older. At the same time, colors that are excessive, harsh bright such as red, yellow, green, and others, might make you look a little bit ridiculous.
We tend to associate both browns and greys, as well as bright red and purple, with women past a certain age, so better avoid them. What you should do instead is look for clothes in lovely, warm colors, preferably pastels. Colors like baby blue or baby pink, mint, peach puff, light
yellow, and others just like these are great choices that will take years off your face.

Go nude (for the handbag!)

While it’s not clothing per se, bags are essential accessories that can make or break the whole outfit. The black bag doesn’t go well with everything (as we were taught in the past), not if you want to look younger. Also, you can forget about matching colors for the shoes and bag. For a classy, cool, younger appearance, choose a bag that goes well with the clothes you’re wearing. A neutral color such as nude is a fail-safe option, so make sure to invest in one or two bags in light, pastel colors.

Ellen Alexander – The Conqueror of the entertainment world

The sky is the limit as the Russian beauty throws all her weight behind a music career that is poised to take her from the runway to the radio.

They say that to conquer the entertainment world, the right mix of moxie, grit, determination, and a bit of good old fashioned luck are necessary to break into the top echelons of the business. As a top model, Ellen Alexander has graced the covers of countless fashion magazines on both sides of the Atlantic. She has been featured in several television and movie roles as an actress. And now, Ellen Alexander wants to add another dimension to her artistic vision: singer.

Is the cover of Rolling Stone only a few BPMs away?

Ever after the pursuit of artistic happiness, Ellen Alexander has set her sights on the music world and her ambitious career shows no signs of slowing down as she embarks on a musical journey that she is soon set to release upon her fans. Naturally, Alexander is entering into a different phase of her career and expectations will be tested, but she didn’t come this far to stop now. We sit down with Ellen and get to the crux of her musical mission.

What made you decide to pursue a career in entertainment?

My first photos were in fact made by my father, which helped to kickstart my modeling career. My parents are prestigious scientists, but despite my prideful family history, I was determined to make my life the way I wanted. So after my economics degree in Russia, I realized that my real wish is to work in the entertainment industry and I was determined to do so!

What is your background in music?

Well, I have been singing since I was five years old, music isn’t that new for me. My parents used to work long hours, so I would participate in a lot of after-school activities – choir was one of them. After I moved to LA, I was in the process of signing with Warner Bros, but had a medical problem so the deal fell through.

Who were your icons in entertainment growing up?

I am not sure whom I looked up to when growing up. But now I look up to some women in the same industry; some of these women include Selena Gomez, Camila Cabello, and Taylor Swift. I would absolutely love to collaborate with any of these great women.

Determination is key if you want to get deep into the trenches of the entertainment industry. Now that you are in it, can you let your fans know how far and deep you plan to go with your ambitions?

I am not very disciplined. I wish. Probably I should remember those ballet lessons. But definitely I still like to dance as a form of exercise and stay in shape. I still go once in a while to a dance school in LA called Millennium dance studio. It is very famous and I like teachers there. Classes are a bit too full and now it is closed because of the pandemic so I only hike for physical activity. Sometimes I exercise with my girlfriend who is a professional fitness instructor.

Now that you have set your sights on a music career, how are you approaching this latest career trajectory?

I want to build a career in music, movies, modeling as an influencer and as a brand and putting lots of efforts recently towards it. I wasn’t putting that much effort before because LA is very intense and I have lots of interests and lots of friends.

Well, now I am working on PR and press coverage, a strong online presence, and music promotion. Besides that, having many scheduled shoots, going to music studios, finishing the songs and pretty much that is all I am doing all day every day during pandemic.

Unlike many artists starting out that choose the cookie cutter approach to entering the music industry, Ellen Alexander is taking a non-traditional approach to achieve her goals of artistic control – and domination…

When you started out in entertainment, did you have a blueprint for success? Did you wish to emulate someone else’s career?

I have always followed my beliefs and built my own strategy. So no, I didn’t have a blueprint.

How are you building your musical portfolio?

Now I am continuing to work on my music, working hard on one song at a time. I’m also working on creating my music label, GDP Music Group. I decided that there is no point in chasing a record company when I can create something I truly believe in.

Rock, pop, soul, jazz, hip hop and everything in between, Ellen is unafraid to venture into all these musical genres, basking in the freedom to explore her sonic destiny with no limits…

Musically, your sound could best be described as…?

I can’t describe what is “my sound” – my music usually tends to have a romantic undertone and is what you can consider to have a mainstream sound. I have over 100 songs that I haven’t released yet and I still prefer to release them one at a time, because of how different they are. For example, when you release an album all the songs should be in one vein, but I can’t settle one just one genre though. I like my artistic freedom.

Who would you most like to collaborate with?

Selena Gomez, Camila Cabello, and Taylor Swift. I would absolutely love to collaborate with any of these great women and talented artists.

Are there other genres you would like to or plan to experiment in?

As I mentioned before, I don’t want to put myself in the boxes and limitations of musical genres and try to unleash as much of my creative power as possible. I think that my songs could be put into the genres of EDM, tropical house, pop. Honestly, it’s a mix of everything and that’s how I think it will be.

What is your creative process like?

I spend a lot of time at the studio now. Despite having and managing my own music label, I spend a big amount of time remastering, editing and change my already existing songs. There is no limit to perfection!

The Fans and the Future

What’s the best thing about your fans? Are you anxious about them hearing your musical work?

I always appreciate the support and positive response given to me by my fans, that’s how I get reminded that I am on the right path.

Where would you like to see yourself in ten years?

Successful, well-known, and accomplished.

What’s next for you?

Now I am working on new music all of the time. You can definitely expect some songs before the end of this year. I spend a lot of time at the studio now, working on music and building my music label – GDP Music Group. Beauty advices from a Russian supermodel

How do models manage to have flawless skin all the time? Is it in their genes, the skincare products they use? Some secret beauty therapies we don’t know about? We all cleanse and moisturize, but there must be other things to do to get glowing skin. And what better way to find out then go straight to the source and ask – in this case, we had a little beauty chat with a Russian beauty – Ellen Alexander.

Ellen is not only a striking beauty but also a talented artist involved in the music industry, as well as theater and movies. Originally from Moscow, she is now living in Los Angeles – the City of Angels, famous for its nightlife.

You look absolutely stunning! Tell us about your daily beauty routine?

Ellen Alexander: I don’t really do much for my daily routine! And I’m not really that focused on my look! But I do the simple things, like using coconut oil regularly, as well as vitamin C and vitamin E. I apply the vitamin E and coconut oil not only on my skin but also on my hair.

Do you have a particular brand or product that you use all the time?

Ellen Alexander: For me, beauty it’s less about the products you buy and apply on your face every morning and evening. Beauty it’s more about keeping an active lifestyle, staying fit. I love to go hiking, spend time on the beach, and I do exercise almost every day. Pilates does more for my body, health and beauty than any cream. And massages – you can really see an improvement in skin quality after just ten sessions of massage, even if you do it at home, for just a few minutes every day.

Where do you get your beauty products?

Ellen Alexander: I travel a lot, both for work and pleasure, and I often stay in hotels with a spa. This is where I get most of the products I use, professional products recommended by the skin therapist. The vitamin C and E that I use more often are from the pharmacy! I don’t believe in expensive creams and serums, and I get great results with natural products.

What beauty therapies or procedures you tried and would recommend?

Ellen Alexander: Definitely stem cells injections for skin and hair. It’s better than any cream I’ve tried. And the best part is that I get this done and then just forget about skincare for some time! The skin looks amazing; I look and feel like a teenager again in a matter of hours after the procedure. The results were also visible for the hair, which is now much thicker than before. I’m not into fillers and Botox, or other types of more invasive procedures, as I’m trying to keep a very natural, fresh look.

What was the biggest mistake you ever made when it comes to beauty and skincare? If you ever made mistakes…

Ellen Alexander: Oh, yes! Quite a big one. It was PDO threads – the results were just really bad, and this is probably the only thing I regret trying when it comes to beauty. I have shootings all the time, so I can’t really afford too many mistakes. This is the reason why I avoid using skincare products that might trigger unwanted side effects on my skin. Let’s just say this is my way to protect the skin from damage!

What was the best beauty advice you received so far and from whom?

Ellen Alexander: For a while, I was following Miranda Kerr for her beauty tips. This was when I started using coconut oil, and now I do it all the time. And here is a tip I can give you – get a coconut oil spray and apply all over the body before going out and having fun outdoors. I do it before going hiking, for example. The skin looks magic after this, just make sure to apply sunscreen too, if it’s too hot outside.

Ellen Alexander appearing on the new cover of Esquire Serbia

Ellen Alexander, an American model, and actress with Russian roots gave a big interview for Esquire Serbia, in which she told about how her modeling career began, about working in the fashion industry, and creative plans. The photoshoot literally smells of America: landscapes, cars, the whole image – as if we hear the sound of an open Coke, and a hot wind blows in the face from the Mojave Desert.

Ellen Alexander appeared in the image of a traveling hippie fairy: wild, but an elegant mixture of colors and textures gives a resemblance to either a tropical butterfly or Woodstock girl.

The future top model was born in a family of Soviet scientists, who were at
the origins of space exploration and everyone predicted a career in science for her, but she wanted to see the world, and most importantly, to show herself. From a pretty teenager who dreamed of adventures and the American spirit of freedom, she turned into a world-class top model who was wanted by such fashion titans as L’officiel, Vogue, and Shape.§

In addition to her modeling career, the ambitious blonde studied acting, played in movies, and even tried herself in the theater: the Russian audience remembered her for her work in the Poor Nastya and the Brigade. At the Edinburgh Festival in the UK, the actress received rave reviews for her role as Phoebe in the Catcher in the Rye. Elle Alexander is not just an actress and model: She has long been fond of vocals and now her hobby is gaining momentum – her track Shadows can already be heard on ITUNES and Spotify.

Ellen Alexander on Investing in Yourself and Learning How to Balance it All

Model, singer, and artist Ellen Alexander is a woman in control. The Russian-born triple threat has graced the cover of several high fashion magazines, including Marie Clarie, Harper’s Bazaar, Glamour, Cosmopolitan, and worked on Versace and Guess campaigns.

Not only is she stunning and graceful in front of the camera as a model and actress, but she’s also branching out into a new passion project – singing and writing music.

“I’ve written about 200 songs,” she says. Her latest single “Shadows,” a romantic tune, is available on Spotify, and she plans on releasing a second track called “Mannequin” soon. Although she spends most of her free time in the studio working on her craft, she’s learning how to balance it all.

“I’m very busy,” she laughs. “I don’t have time for anything or anybody; I just barely have time to see my friends.”

Born in Moscow, and based in Los Angeles for more than a decade, Ellen’s often jet setting around the world. On any given day, you can catch her in London, New York, Paris, and back in Russia for work. She’s got a busy schedule. Even during quarantine, she’s managed to fill her calendar with modeling and acting jobs. During this time, she’s learned the importance of self-care and how to focus on yourself.

“I can be alone. I don’t need to date anybody,” she says. “I’ve learned that I shouldn’t be concerned about my private life, personal life, and I should focus on my career.”

Although you might think modeling for top fashion houses, acting in Hollywood, and creating music is a lot to manage, Ellen is no stranger to having many responsibilities on her plate. When she was four years old, she started learning English in Russia, and as a kid, she went to school for eight hours a day in an intensive program that focused on physics, math, and science.

“It was very tough for a small kid,” she says. It was those experiences that taught her the importance of investing in yourself to open new doors and create opportunities.

Her advice to her younger self, “not to be afraid, and not to feel insecure, and not to try to save every penny,” she says. “When I was a kid, I was afraid to travel to meet an agent, if I had to pay out of my own pocket, or cover expenses for a hotel because that was minor spending.”

She learned to network and build relationships to create opportunities for success.

For the rest of 2020, Ellen plans to focus on modeling, acting, and writing new music. She’ll be releasing new tracks and music videos for each song in Russia and the US.

“I’m trying to accomplish everything I possibly can and focus on progress and new achievements,” she shared with her impressive amount of followers on Instagram.

Russian beauty dives into the world of music

She is gorgeous, she is talented, and she is on a mission to share her many talents with the world. She is Ellen Alexander – model, actress, and music artist. Ellen was born in Russia and studied at Chekhov Moscow Arts Theatre School. But she soon discovered that the world is her home and moved to the UK, and later on to the USA. Currently residing in LA, she made a glorious (and courageous) debut in the music industry during these troubled times.

We’ve seen her “Shadows” video on, and it is breathtaking, to say the least. This was when we decided it’s time we find out Ellen Alexander’s plans for the future!

And here they are!

“Shadows” was released during the Pandemic; this is a very bold choice. Tell us more about what inspired you!

Ellen Alexander: Why a bold choice? We’ve been working on the song for quite some time. “Shadows” is a team effort, and I’ve been fortunate to work with amazing and very talented people. I’ve chosen to release it during this time as a reminder that even in tough times, we can still enjoy the music, live our passion, and create.

About the source of inspiration, I think we could say it was a good friend of mine, Jeremy Renner. He was also creating music at the time and introduced me to the people that I’m working with now. But the bottom line is that I wanted to make something out of my passion, to share it with the world.

What got you into music in the first place? I mean, you’re already modeling, doing reality shows, theater, movies… why music?

Ellen Alexander: I’ve been singing since I was five years old. Music wasn’t something that just popped up in my life now; it was always there, ever since I was a little girl. My parents are both scientists, working long hours, so I had a lot of afterschool activities, and music was just one of them. I’ve also been in a choir for a while; it was a great experience. After I moved to LA, I was in the process of signing with Warner Bros, but I had a medical problem, and the deal fell through. I had some issues with the vocal cords, and the doctors recommended rest for like six months. It’s a long time to stop singing!

I know you have been working on over 200 songs, is an album coming along soon?

Ellen Alexander: Yeah, maybe! Currently, I’m working with an agency that is preparing my debut on the Chinese market. You know, Alibaba, Tik Tok, it is a market worth exploring and with great potential. In the next few months, I have to prepare five new songs. After this, we’ll see if an album is the best solution or just releasing songs one at a time.

Give us a hint about what’s next in your music career, what projects are you working on now?

Ellen Alexander: Well, I have so much going on right now, I don’t know where to start! I’m still modeling, and just living in LA takes a lot of time, you know! But music-wise, I’m working on creating my own music label. I decided there is no point in chasing a record company when I can create something I really believe in.

Do you have a celebrity you’d like to work with, maybe a duet? Do you have a celebrity crush?

Ellen Alexander: Oh, I have many celebrity crushes, I fall in love so easily with creative spirits! It has nothing to do with sexuality, but with the inspiration that they bring, the state of mind.

It’s hard to pick just one artist for a duet; there are so many people I’d like to work with, I don’t want to discriminate! I’m easy going, and I love new projects and the energy that they bring. And I’m totally open to collaborations with other music artists.

And the last question – what do you sing in the shower?

Ellen Alexander: I don’t have a favorite, to be honest! Usually, I put some music on, and I just sing along with whatever is playing! Actually, wait! I think I did sing Shadows quite a few times lately!
